Our work safeguards the value of qualifications for students and learners, and protects and promotes the reputation of education.PositionAbout the roleThe Quality Assurance Specialist role is key in supporting the successful implementation of Scotland’s new Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework. The role sits within the Scotland team and supports the delivery of programmes of activity linked to quality assurance in Scotland, particularly the delivery of the external peer review method, Tertiary Quality Enhancement Review (TQER), support for Scotland’s Concerns Scheme and engagement with tertiary institutions (colleges and universities) as part of institutional liaison.The role also supports and participates in the development and delivery of a range of assurance activities for our Scottish tertiary institutions. This will involve analysis of review outcomes, regular reporting and the provision of specific, high-level expertise and knowledge to stakeholders in quality assurance, enhancement and academic standards. You will also use this knowledge to inform the design and delivery of resources and the coordination of networking events, workshops, and webinars. You will be engaged in supporting and leading projects as well as supporting activities being led by others.RequirementsAbout youWe are looking for individuals with experience of working in assurance and/or enhancement in tertiary education, who are passionate about the future of Scottish education. You will have a good understanding of the challenges facing tertiary education across the UK, especially in Scotland, and a thorough understanding of the content, role and practical application of the baseline quality requirements in Scottish and/or UK education. Knowledge of college quality arrangements in Scotland and the role of awarding bodies is important for this role.If you have a good working knowledge of Scottish, UK and/or international further or higher education and have expertise in quality assurance and enhancement activities, we want to hear from you.Other informationPosition: Quality Assurance SpecialistLocation: We offer employees the opportunity to work flexibly from home, providing it is within the UK.
